Monthly Board Meeting

The regular monthly business meeting of the Fairwood West Homeowners’ Association Board of Trustees was called to order at 7:00 pm on Thursday March 9th, 2017.  Trustees in attendance were Chris Hurless, Dave Sherman, Eileen Richards, Brandy Bradford, Christine Sylvia and Jan Schroeder.    Also in attendance was Barb Simeona and five homeowners.

~ MONTHLY REMINDERS~

Any changes to the outside of your home must have
an approved architectural control form on file
prior to work being done on the home.

Molasses Creek/Park Pipeline – Nothing new to report.

Homeowner Appeals – There was two owners in attendance asking for architectural approval for a new roof as their current roof is leaking.  The form and examples were reviewed by Christine and approved.  They were also asking about speeding on Fairwood Blvd.  One of these two owners said he would take the lead and find out how to get a permanent speed sign installed. 

Another homeowner in attendance asked about a neighborhood potluck/ice cream social type activity.  Her and her neighbor would be happy to organize. 

The same owner was also there to discuss a home that is in ongoing CC&R violation situation.  The Board requested written documentation.

A homeowner was also in attendance to discuss their account balance. 

Community Events – The Annual Garage Sale will be June 23-25th. 

Eileen reported she would be happy to work with anyone wanting to brainstorm on community events.

There will be no Easter Egg Hunt this year.

Pride In Ownership – Will begin again in April.

Minutes of the Previous Meeting – A motion was made 2nd and approved to accept the February meeting minutes as amended.  Under the Renton Fire report add the word “and” in front of “it’s free”.    

Financial Report – The monthly financial report was accepted as presented. 

Treasurer’s Report – Nothing new to report other than the tax return was filed.

Architectural Control Report – One new request approved – see notes above.

A letter was sent to a homeowner that did not get their new garage doors approved.

Common Properties Report – Dave gave the brochure from NW Playground Equipment to Paul for review.  He will be having them come out and present 3 different bids.

Brandy will be having the original play-toy contractor present a bid as well.

It was noted that a light in the entryway needs a replacement fixture.

Covenant Enforcement – All homes in violation were reviewed.  There was discussion regarding the possibility of revamping the CC&R violations process.

Unfinished Business – See the outstanding action items below.  Jan noted that the Board Member handbook is about ½ way done.

New Business

The meeting adjourned at 8:55 pm.

The next two meetings of the Fairwood West Homeowners’ Association will be the held on Thursday April 13th and Thursday May 11th both at 7 pm.  These meetings are in the portable building at the Nativity Lutheran Church, 17707 140th SE. 

All residents are welcome to attend.
